November 30th- Weekly Blog

Hi Parents,

Reminders:
- Student Led Learning Conferences next week, Wednesday December 5th and Thursday December 6th.
- Students will have early dismissal Wednesday (12:40pm) and no school Thursday or Friday next week.

Math/Science:
In math this week students completed a Partial Product multiplication check in slip, these went home for a signature and needs to be returned to school. Following our Partial Product work we introduced the final method of multiplication we will work with this year, the Lattice Method. Most students were very excited about this method as it was the first time many of them had seen it. We will continue to work with the Lattice Method in the coming week as we prepare to show you all of the neat ways we have learned to multiply during our Learning Conferences. Updated information about the Lattice Method has been added to the google slide shared with students, it includes steps and examples if you are interested in reviewing it.

In science this week we finished our Wetland Poster Project and have started our summative write-ups on the work we completed during this task. Next week we will continue to work on our write-ups and start looking at clouds, wind and meteorology within our Weather unit.

French 5-3:
Please finish the Ages and Names of the family members you included on your French Family Trees, your red books have all the resources you will need for this. Students will have a final period to fine-line and colour their family trees on Monday.

Have a wonderful weekend!
