Humanities

This week in Humanities, students learned more about the history of Canada. We discussed the Canadian Pacific Railway and its impact on the west. They started a propaganda poster that would have been used to entice immigrants to the west. Next week, they will be beginning a mini essay on the positive and negative impact of the CPR.

Students will be bringing home their red journal today with the following question:

Since learning about Canadian history, how are you feeling? Do you have questions? What has been the most surprising?

Please have a discussion about their answer and sign their book so I know you have seen it.

Reminder: Next Thursday, students will be writing a quiz on what we have learned thus far. The topics will be: Confederation, The National Policy, NWMP and the CPR. Students have notes in their folder that they can use to help them review the concepts covered in class.
