Reminder that this activity will be happening on Monday. This activity is not meant to cause stress to families but be a fun way to wrap up our fur trade discussion. Students will be asked to reflect on how they worked as a group and how it was to plan an outside of school activity. I will be looking at their reflection pieces following the activity and how they were able to represent their learning using a different medium. If you do not want your child to eat any of the food please email me to let me know or else have them tell me on that day. Thank you for your support in this activity.
Fur Trade Cafe
-In groups of 3-4, you will create a menu item for our Fur Trade Cafe. You will pick one of the groups (Métis, voyageur/coureur des bois, habitant/seigneur, HBC, NWC) and will create a dish that reflects that group. This should be a dish that does not require heating or refrigeration.

This week we discussed the United Empire Loyalists and the impact that the War of Independence had on our population and land. Next week, we will start talking about the Underground Railroad.
Students planned and wrote a narrative of their choice. We will continue to look at this piece of writing next week and edit their work.
